Common questions

Where are my photos stored?

In your own cloud storage — not on our servers. When you add a photo, the full-resolution original goes straight from your device to your connected Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, filed under MyTripLog Photos / [Trip] / [Day]. MyTripLog keeps only a small thumbnail so your timeline loads quickly. If you stopped using MyTripLog tomorrow, your photos would still be sitting in your own account, named and organised.

Why do I have to connect cloud storage?

Because that's where your photos live. MyTripLog organises your storage rather than becoming another place your photos are trapped. You connect an account once, during setup, and photos upload there from then on.

I disconnected my storage and now photos won't upload

Disconnecting a provider unlinks it from every trip that used it, and reconnecting does not automatically re-link your existing trips. Open the trip's settings and pick your storage account again. Photos already uploaded are unaffected — they're still in your cloud.

Can I use MyTripLog without a signal?

Yes. Waypoints and photos are saved on your device and upload themselves once you're back online. The banner above the navigation bar tells you what's still waiting to sync.

How do I share a trip?

Open the trip, go to its settings, and turn on the share link. Anyone with the link can view the trip — no account needed. You can revoke the link at any time, which immediately makes the trip private again.

How do I delete my account?

Open Account and choose Delete account. You'll be asked to type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your trips, waypoints, notes, and the thumbnails we hold. It cannot be undone.

Your full-resolution photos in your own cloud storage are deliberately left alone — they're yours. If you want those gone too, delete the MyTripLog Photos folder from your storage provider directly.

Something looks wrong or the app won't load

Try a hard refresh on the web app, or close and reopen the mobile app. If it persists, email us at [email protected] with your device and the version number shown at the bottom of the Account screen — that tells us exactly which build you're on and saves a round of questions.
